US wireless carrier Sprint will start offering a 7 inch Android tablet on February 5th for $99.99. That is the price you will need to pay when you sign up for a 2-year service contract with the carrier. Data plans for the tablet start at $19.99 per month.
The tablet under discussion is the ZTE Optik tablet with a 7 inch, 1280 x 800 pixels display. It has a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8600 dual core processor, 1GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. The supported connectivity options are sprint’s 3G wireless, WiFi 802.11b/g, Bluetooth 2.1 and GPS. The tablet has got two cameras - a 2 megapixel camera on the front side and a 5 megapixel camera on the rear side.
The tablet comes pre-installed with Google Android Market and a suit of Google apps. Of course, it is not state-of-the-art, but for the price it is not a bad deal. The contract-free model runs $349.99.
